My story · Brisbane

I failed for 15 years. Then I learned the truth about success.

I'm Bruce Svenson — Brisbane-based results coach, and builder of the AI systems behind Digital Destiny Pro. But I didn't start here. I started broke, frustrated, and convinced I just wasn't cut out for it. Here's what changed.

The 15-year detour

Fifteen years. One believer: my mum.

For fifteen years I chased network marketing. My very first company, I did everything "right" — made my list, followed my upline's advice to the letter. After all that effort, the only person I signed up was my mum… who took one look and said, "this looks like a pyramid plan," but joined anyway — just to help her son.

My biggest commission cheque, ever, was two dollars and seventy-six cents. So I quit. I tried a few others. The last one, I just sold product — buy it for three hundred, sell it for four. It wasn't a business. It was a hobby that cost me money. And the whole time, I blamed myself.

The turning point

What a bowling alley taught me about business.

For years I bowled tenpin. I was… okay. Then one day the centre manager said, "Why don't you get some coaching — see how good you could actually be?"

So I did. My first coach just told me to do it his way, and I struggled. Then I found a good coach — one who showed me exactly what to fix, and warned me it'd feel worse before it clicked, right up until all the pieces came together. They did. I became a scratch bowler. I've bowled twelve perfect games — twelve 300s.

And that's when it hit me: what if I ran my business the way I'd learned to bowl? Not more hustle — the right skills, coached properly, practised until they clicked. So I went and learned them. Attraction marketing. Sales funnels. Marketing that actually works. I was one of the first to jump on ChatGPT the day it launched — using it to write content, then going deeper into how AI could genuinely run a business. And because I used to be a world-class procrastinator, I got accredited as a results coach — to fix myself first. Now I do it for other people.

Why I do this now

Skill beats talent — and I see it every single day.

My wife Lydia is one of the saving graces of my life. She's the one who taught me that even when the world feels full of people out for themselves, there are still genuinely good people in it.

I watch that same lesson play out with my son, Reign. A couple of years ago, golf was just a hobby. Then he decided he wanted to go pro — and with coaching and relentless practice, he's cut his handicap by more than fourteen shots in the last year, down to 4.5. He's only 14, and he's already beating grown men: he fought his way to the Men's A-Grade Matchplay semi-finals at our local club, only losing on the playoff hole after they'd finished tied over all 18. Nobody does that on talent alone. They do it coached.

That's the whole point. Success — in bowling, in golf, in business — isn't luck, and it isn't just grinding harder. It's a skill, and skills can be coached.

So that's what I do now. I coach marketing direction and follow-through for coaches and owner-operators — find the blockage, choose the next move, follow through until it's done. And when the next move needs building, my company Digital Destiny Pro builds the machinery: websites, bookings, conversational AI. I also run my own pickup & delivery laundry business, The Washing Club — so I live the missed-call, slow-follow-up problem first-hand. It's why I built the fix.

The measure I hold myself to

Better off for meeting me.

After all those years of being sold to — and selling badly — I ended up with one rule, and it's the only measure I hold myself to: I want you better off because you met me.

Whether we ever work together. Whether I make a dollar from you or not. If you walk away from a conversation with me clearer than you arrived — a question answered, a wrong turn avoided, one thing you can actually do next — then I've done my job. That's not a sales line; it's why the strategy call costs nothing, and why I'll tell you straight when what I sell isn't your fix.

And the best outcome? You're better off and we end up working together — that's the version where we both win. But it's the second half of the sentence. It's never allowed to be the first.

I wasted 15 years learning this the hard way. You don't have to.

You can't out-hustle a wrong direction — but direction can be chosen, and follow-through can be coached.
